BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-2426 **DRAFT** COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES March 18, 2025 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Natural Resources and Agriculture was scheduled for Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. in the Room 1300 of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Adopted 2025-2026 Committee Rules. 2. Testimony regarding SB 93 (Sen. Singh). The Chair called the meeting to order at 1:30 p.m.. The Chair instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Shink, Sen.(s) Cherry, Singh, Polehanki, Daley, Victory and Hoitenga The Chair made a motion to adopt the 2025-2026 Senate Committee on Natural Resource and Agriculture Committee Rules. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Shink, Sen.(s) Cherry, Singh, Polehanki, Daley, Victory, and Hoitenga. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the 2025-2026 Committee Rules were adopted. The Chair invited Senator Singh to explain SB 93. Due to technical difficulties, the following individual was not able to testify remotely: James Lee, Lee’s Bees - Support The Chair directed the Clerk to read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding SB 93: James Lee, Lee’s Bees - Support Mikaylah Heffernan, MDARD - Support Amanda Shreve, Executive Director, MI Farmers Market Association - Support Rebecca Park, Michigan Farm Bureau - Support Elizabeth Neiman, Self - Opposed 302 individual beekeepers across Michigan – Support Page 2 of 2 The Chair entertained a motion by Senator Daley, to report SB 93 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Shink, Sen.(s) Cherry, Singh, Polehanki, Daley, Victory and Hoitenga Nays: None Pass: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported.
