BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7918 DRAFT COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES March 18, 2025 A meeting of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Appropriations Subcommittee on PreK-12 was scheduled for Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at 12:00 noon in the Harry T. Gast Appropriations Room of the 3rd Floor The Chair called the meeting to order at 12:00 noon. The Chair instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Camilleri, Sen.(s) Polehanki, Hertel, Klinefelt, Cavanagh, Bayer, Theis and Albert The Chair entertained a motion by Senator Polehanki, supported by Senator Hertel, to adopt the meeting minutes from March 6, 2025. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding Federal Title I funding: Michelle Williams, Michael Powell, Shoua Vang, and Olivia Ponte, from the Michigan Department of Education The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding At-Risk funding and the Opportunity Index: Jeff Cobb, from Education Trust-Midwest There being no further business before the committee, the Chair made a motion, supported by Senator Klinefelt, to adjourn the committee at 1:00 p.m. Without objection, the committee was adjourned.
