BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-0142 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES April 17, 2025 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Labor was scheduled for Thursday, April 17, 2025, at 8:30 a.m. in Room 1300 of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Presentation from the Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity regarding Federal Actions and Workers' Rights. 2. Testimony from Terminated Federal Employees and the Subsequent Impact on Programs and Workforce in Michigan. The Chair called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.. The Chair instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Cherry, Sen.(s) Camilleri, Cavanagh and Albert The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding federal actions and workers' rights: Sean Egan and Jayshona Hicks, Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding terminated federal employees and the subsequent impact on programs and workforce in Michigan: Nicole Rice, Resident Leslie Desmond, Resident Andrew Lennox, U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs The Chair entertained a motion by Senator Camilleri to adopt the meeting minutes from January 29, 2025. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair made a motion to adjourn the committee at 9:47 a.m. Without objection, the committee was adjourned. Date adopted by committee: 05/01/25
