BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7918 DRAFT COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES April 29, 2025 A meeting of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Appropriations Subcommittee on PreK-12 was scheduled for Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at 12:00 noon in the Harry T. Gast Appropriations Room of the 3rd Floor The Chair called the meeting to order at 12:00 noon. The Chair instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Camilleri, Sen.(s) Polehanki, Hertel, Klinefelt, Cavanagh, Bayer and Albert The Chair entertained a motion by Senator Albert, supported by Senator Polehanki, to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Senator Theis was excused from the meeting. The Chair entertained a motion by Senator Polehanki, supported by Senator Hertel, to adopt the meeting minutes from March 18, 2025. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. Senator Camilleri provided an overview of the Chair's Recommendation for the FY 2025-26 K-12 School Aid Budget (SB166). The Chair entertained a motion by Senator Polehanki, supported by Senator Hertel, to adopt the (S-1) version of SB166. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Camilleri, Sen.(s) Polehanki, Hertel, Klinefelt, Cavanagh and Bayer Nays: Sen. Albert Excused: Sen. Theis Not Voting: None The motion prevailed and the (S-1) was adopted. The Chair made a motion, supported by Senator Klinefelt, to report the S-1 version of SB166 to the Committee on Appropriations with recommendation as substituted (S-1). The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Camilleri, Sen.(s) Polehanki, Hertel, Klinefelt, Cavanagh and Bayer Nays: Sen. Albert Pass: None The motion prevailed and the bill was referred.
