BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-0142 DRAFT COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES April 30, 2025 A meeting of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture and Natural Resources was scheduled for Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at 12:00 noon in the Room 1300 of the Binsfeld Office Building The Chair called the meeting to order at 12:02 p.m.. The Chair instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Cherry, Sen.(s) Shink, Singh, Bumstead and Theis The Chair entertained a motion by Senator Shink, supported by Senator Singh, to adopt the meeting minutes from March 19, 2025. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. Bruce Baker provided an overview of the Chair's Recommendation for the FY 2025-26 Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Budget (SB171). The Chair entertained a motion by Senator Shink, supported by Senator Bumstead, to adopt the (S-2) version of SB171. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Cherry, Sen.(s) Shink, Singh and Bumstead Nays: None Excused: None Not Voting: Sen. Theis The motion prevailed and the (S-2) was adopted. The Chair made a motion, supported by Senator Singh, to report the S-2 version of SB172 to the Committee on Appropriations with recommendation as substituted (S-2). The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Cherry, Sen.(s) Shink, Singh and Bumstead Nays: None Excused: None Not Voting: Sen. Theis The motion prevailed and the bill was referred. Page 2 of 2 Jonah Houtz provided an overview of the Chair's Recommendation for the FY 2025-26 Department of Natural Resources Budget (SB172). The Chair entertained a motion by Senator Bumstead, supported by Senator Shink, to adopt the (S-1) version of SB172. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Cherry, Sen.(s) Shink, Singh and Bumstead Nays: Sen. Theis Excused: None Not Voting: None The motion prevailed and the (S-1) was adopted. The Chair made a motion, supported by Senator Bumstead, to report the S-1 version of SB172 to the Committee on Appropriations with recommendation as substituted (S-1). The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Cherry, Sen.(s) Shink, Singh and Bumstead Nays: Sen. Theis Excused: None Not Voting: None The motion prevailed and the bill was referred. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair made a motion, supported by Senator Shink, to adjourn the committee at 12:21 p.m. Without objection, the committee was adjourned.
