BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-2523 **DRAFT** COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES May 07, 2025 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Economic and Community Development was scheduled for Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the Room 1100 of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Adopted S-1 to SB 213 (Sen. McMorrow) and S-3 to SB 214 (Sen. Damoose) 2. Reported SB 213 (S-1) (Sen. McMorrow) and SB 214 (S-3) (Sen. Damoose) with recommendation. The Chair called the meeting to order at 2:00 p.m. She instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair McMorrow, Sen.(s) Cavanagh, Polehanki, Moss, Geiss, Victory, Lindsey and Webber. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Polehanki to adopt the meeting minutes from April 17, 2025. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding SB 213 and SB 214: Karen Johnston, Toyota - Support Jim Miller, Nexteer - Support The Chair entertained a motion by Senator Moss to adopt the S-1 version of SB 213. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair McMorrow, Sen.(s) Cavanagh, Polehanki, Moss, Geiss, Victory and Webber. Nays: None Pass: Sen.(s) Lindsey The motion prevailed and the substitute was adopted. The Chair entertained a motion by Senator Moss to report the S-1 version of SB 213 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair McMorrow, Sen.(s) Cavanagh, Polehanki, Moss, Geiss and Victory Nays: None Pass: Sen.(s) Lindsey and Webber The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. Page 2 of 2 The Chair entertained a motion by Senator Victory to adopt the S-3 version of SB 214. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair McMorrow, Sen.(s) Cavanagh, Polehanki, Moss, Geiss, Victory. Nays: None Pass: Sen.(s) Lindsey and Webber. The motion prevailed and the substitute was adopted. The Chair entertained a motion by Senator Polehanki to report the S-3 version of SB214 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair McMorrow, Sen.(s) Cavanagh, Polehanki, Moss, Geiss and Victory Nays: None Pass: Sen.(s) Lindsey and Webber The motion prevailed and the bill was reported.
