BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7315 **DRAFT** COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES May 20, 2025 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Health Policy was scheduled for Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at 9:30 a.m., in the 1100 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported SB 303 (Sen. Hauck) with recommendation. The Chair called the meeting to order at 9:31 a.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Hertel, Sen.(s) Santana, Wojno, Cherry, Klinefelt, Geiss, Webber, Hauck, and Runestad, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Santana to adopt the meeting minutes from May 7, 2025. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Webber to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Sen. Huizenga was excused from the meeting. The Chair invited Sen. Hauck to summarize SB 303. The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding SB 303: Wendy Block, Michigan Chamber – Support Gabe Basso, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan – Support Jacqui Dolce, Grand Rapids Chamber – Support Ashley Christian, Henry Ford Health – Support Catarina Stromberg, Michigan Chapter of the American College of Cardiology – Support Adam Carlson, Michigan Health and Hospital Association – Support Sean Gehle, Trinity Health Michigan – Support Bret Marr, Michigan College of Emergency Physicians – Support Jason Lachowski, AARP Michigan – Support Brain Shoaf, Detroit Regional Chamber – Support Dave Worthams, Michigan Manufacturers Association – Support Page 2 of 2 The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Hauck to report SB 303 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Hertel, Sen.(s) Santana, Wojno, Cherry, Klinefelt, Geiss, Webber, Hauck, and Runestad Nays: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee. Without objection, the committee was adjourned at 9:34 a.m.
