BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-0142 DRAFT COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES June 17, 2025 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Labor was scheduled for Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at 9:45 a.m. in the Room 403 of the 4th Floor. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported SB 54 (Sen. Cherry) with recommendation. 2. Reported SB 319 (Sen. Klinefelt) with recommendation. The Chair called the meeting to order at 9:50 a.m.. The Chair instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Cherry, Sen.(s) Camilleri, Cavanagh and Albert. The Chair entertained a motion by Senator Camilleri to adopt the meeting minutes from June 12, 2025. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair entertained a motion by Senator Cavanagh to report SB54 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Cherry, Sen.(s) Camilleri, Cavanagh and Albert Nays: None Pass: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding SB 319: Steve Delie, Mackinac Center – Opposition Judy Allen, Michigan Townships Association – Opposition Dave Hodgkins, MML – Opposition Samantha Gibson, Michigan Association of Counties – Opposition The Chair entertained a motion by Senator Camilleri to report SB319 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Cherry, Sen.(s) Camilleri and Cavanagh Nays: Sen. Albert Pass: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. Page 2 of 2 There being no further business before the committee, the Chair made a motion to adjourn the committee at 9:52 a.m. Without objection, the committee was adjourned.
