- The Committee on Civil Rights, Judiciary, and Public Safety submitted the following: Meeting held on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 12:00 noon, Room 1200, Binsfeld Office Building Present: Senators Chang (C), Shink, Wojno, Irwin, Santana, Runestad and Johnson The Committee on Energy and Environment reported Senate Bill No. 731, entitled A bill to amend 2008 PA 295, entitled “Clean and renewable energy and energy waste reduction act,” (MCL 460.1001 to 460.1232) by adding part 9. With the recommendation that the substitute (S-1) be adopted and that the bill then pass. Sean McCann Chairperson To Report Out: Yeas: Senators McCann, Singh, Bayer, Shink, Hertel, Camilleri, Chang and Polehanki Nays: Senators Lauwers, Damoose, Outman, Hauck and Bellino The bill and the substitute recommended by the committee were referred to the Committee of the Whole. The Committee on Energy and Environment reported Senate Bill No. 732, entitled A bill to amend 2008 PA 295, entitled “Clean and renewable energy and energy waste reduction act,” (MCL 460.1001 to 460.1232) by adding sections 243, 244, 245, and 246. With the recommendation that the substitute (S-1) be adopted and that the bill then pass.
