BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-1725 FAX: (517) 373-0741 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES March 7, 2019 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Health Policy and Human Services was scheduled for Thursday, March 7, 2019, at 1:00 p.m., in the 1100 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding SB 127 (Sen. VanderWall). 2. Testimony regarding SB 128 (Sen. Hertel). The Chair called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair VanderWall, Sen.(s) Bizon, Johnson, MacDonald, Theis, Brinks, Hertel, Santana, and Wojno, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Brinks to adopt the meeting minutes from February 28, 2019. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair summarized SB 127 and SB 128. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB 127 and SB 128: Marti Coplai, Michigan HomeCare and Hospice Association and Angela Hospice – Support Dr. Jim Boal, Michigan HomeCare and Hospice Association and Angela Hospice – Support Thadd Gormas, Michigan Academy of Physicians Assistants – Support Ron Stavale, Michigan Academy of Physicians Assistants – Support At 1:09 p.m., Sen. LaSata entered the meeting.
