BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-3543 FAX: (517) 373-0927 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES May 9, 2019 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Local Government was scheduled for Thursday, May 9, 2019, at 1:30 p.m., in the Room 1200 of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding HB 4119 (Rep. Meerman) 2. Testimony regarding HB 4055 (Rep. Slagh) The Chair called the meeting to order at 1:30 p.m. He instructed the clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Zorn, Sen.(s) Johnson, Daley, Alexander, and Moss, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Johnson to adopt the meeting minutes from March 14, 2019. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited Tim Holland, of Rep. Meerman's office, and Adam Elenbaas, of Allendale Township, to summarize HB 4119. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding HB 4119: Judy Allen, Michigan Townships Association – Support The Chair invited Rep. Brad Slagh to summarize HB 4055. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding HB 4055: Mary Balkema and Ross Gavin, Michigan Association of County Treasurers – Support The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding HB 4055: Judy Allen, Michigan Townships Association – Support Brad Ward, Michigan Realtors Association – Support Tim Greimel, AFSCME Council 25 – Support There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourned the committee.
