BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-1777 FAX: (517) 373-5871 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES February 28, 2019 A joint meeting of the Senate Committee on Agriculture and the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture and Rural Development was scheduled for Thursday, February 28, 2019, at 3:00 p.m., in the 1300 Room of the Binsfeld Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Department Overview by Dr. James Averill, of the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development 2. Presentation by Rebecca Park, of the Michigan Farm Bureau, regarding March is Reading Month. The Chairman called the meeting to order at 3:00 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chairman Daley, Sen.(s) Victory, Ananich, and Polehanki, a quorum was present. The Chairman invited Dr. James Averill, of the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, to deliver a departmental overview. The Chairman moved to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Sen. Lauwers was excused from the meeting. The Chairman invited Rebecca Park, of the Michigan Farm Bureau, to present regarding March is Reading Month. There being no further business before the committee, the Chairman moved to adjourn the committee.
