- COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES June 20, 2019 A joint meeting of the Senate Committee on Economic and Small Business Development and the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Talent and Economic Development/MEDC was scheduled for Thursday, June 20, 2019, at 12:00 noon, in the 1200 Room of the Binsfeld Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Presentations regarding MI Reconnect and MI Opportunity Scholarship proposals, and filling Michigan's talent gap. The Chairman called the meeting to order at 12:02 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chairman Horn, Sen.(s) VanderWall, MacGregor, Theis, Lauwers, Schmidt, McMorrow, Geiss, and Moss; a quorum was present. The Chairman moved to adopt the meeting minutes from June 13, 2019. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chairman invited the following individuals to present regarding MI Reconnect and MI Opportunity Scholarship proposals, and filling Michigan's talent gap: Sen. Jim Ananich Rich Studley and Wendy Block, Michigan Chamber of Commerce Sandy Baruah, Detroit Chamber of Commerce Kevin Stotts, Talent 2025 Michelle Miller-Adams, Upjohn Institute Doug Ross, The office of Governor Gretchen Whitmer There being no further business before the committee, the Chairman moved to adjourn the committee.
