BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7840 FAX: (517) 373-3932 JOINT COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES February 5, 2020 A joint meeting of the Senate Committee on Oversight with the House Committee on Oversight was scheduled for Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at 8:30 a.m., in the Harry T. Gast Senate Appropriations Room of the Capitol Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Discussion on the Office of the Auditor General Performance Audit Report, Michigan Department of State, Bureau of Elections, December 2019. Chair McBroom called the Senate meeting to order at 8:32 a.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair McBroom, Sen.(s) Lucido, Theis and MacDonald, a quorum was present. Chair McBroom invited the House Oversight Committee to call roll and excuse absent members. A quorum was not present at that time. Chair McBroom invited the committees to join in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. Chair McBroom gave opening comments including a summary of the topic. Chair McBroom invited Mary Lowe and Jordan Schafer of the Office of the Auditor General to brief the committees on the Office of the Auditor General Performance Audit Report, Michigan Department of State, Bureau of Elections, December 2019. Questions followed from Senate and House committee members. Chair McBroom invited Jonathan Brater of the Bureau of Elections to provide testimony regarding the Performance Audit Report, Michigan Department of State, Bureau of Elections, December 2019. Questions followed from Senate and House committee members. Chair McBroom invited Andrew Mason and Bree Anderson of the Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget to provide testimony regarding the Performance Audit Report, Michigan Department of State, Bureau of Elections, December 2019. The members did not have further questions. Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Theis to adjourn the Senate meeting due to the Senate session beginning.
