BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7840 FAX: (517) 373-3932 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES November 7, 2020 A joint meeting of the Senate Committee on Oversight and House Committee on Oversight was scheduled for Saturday, November 7, 2020, at 11:00 a.m., in the Senate Hearing Room, Ground Floor, Boji Tower. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Authorization of issuing subpoena on the Bureau of Elections. The Chair called the meeting to order at 11:00 a.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair McBroom, Sen.(s) Lucido, Theis, MacDonald, and Irwin, a quorum was present. Chair McBroom invited the House Oversight Committee to call roll. A quorum was present. The Chair invited the committees to recite the Pledge of Allegiance. The Chair summarized the days agenda and gave opening comments. Discussion was held between the members of both committees pertaining to the 2020 primary and general elections. The Chair invited Sen. Irwin to make a statement to the committee. Chair Hall invited Rep. S. Johnson to make a statement to the committee. Chair Hall invited Rep. Camilleri to make a statement to the committee. Chair Hall invited Rep. LaGrand to make a statement to the committee. Chair Hall made a statement to the committee. Chair McBroom made a statement to the committee. Page 1 of 2 Chair McBroom entertained a motion by Sen. Theis to authorize the Chair, in conjunction with the Chair of House Oversight Committee, to issue and have served, a subpoena on the Bureau of Elections to require them to provide this Committee with information and communications related to the 2020 primary and general elections. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair McBroom, Sen.(s) Lucido, Theis and MacDonald Nays: Sen. Irwin The motion prevailed. Representative Webber moved that the House Oversight Committee authorize the chair, in conjunction with the chair of the Senate Oversight Committee, to issue and have served, a subpoena on the Bureau of Elections to require them to provide this Committee with information and communications related to the 2020 primary and general elections. The motion prevailed 6-3-0: There being no further business before the committee, the Chair entertained a motion by Sen.
