BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7840 FAX: (517) 373-3932 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES November 19, 2020 A joint meeting of the Senate Committee on Oversight and House Committee on Oversight was scheduled for Thursday, November 19, 2020, at 1:00 p.m., in the Senate Hearing Room, Ground Floor, Boji Tower. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Presentation by Lisa Posthumus Lyons, Kent County Clerk. 2. Presentation by Barb Byrum, Ingham County Clerk. 3. Presentation by Sheryl Guy, Antrim County Clerk. The Chair called the meeting to order at 1:06 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair McBroom, Sen.(s) Lucido, Theis, and Irwin, a quorum was present. Chair McBroom invited the House Oversight Committee to call roll. A quorum was present. Chair McBroom invited the committees to recite the Pledge of Allegiance. Sen. Theis moved to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Sen. MacDonald was excused from the meeting. Chair McBroom summarized the days agenda and gave opening comments. Chair Hall gave opening comments. The committee went at ease from 1:12 p.m. to 1:13 p.m. to resolve a background noise issue. Chair McBroom invited Kent County Clerk Lisa Posthumus Lyons to present to the committee via Zoom regarding the 2020 election. Chair McBroom invited Ingham County Clerk Barb Byrum to present to the committee via Zoom regarding the 2020 election. Page 1 of 3 Member questions and discussion followed from Chair Hall, Rep.(s) LaFave, Camilleri, Reilly, C. A. Johnson and S. Johnson. Member questions and discussion followed from Chair McBroom, Sen.(s) Lucido, Theis and Irwin. Chair McBroom requested additional information from both presenters be submitted to the committee. Chair McBroom invited Antrim County Clerk Sheryl Guy, to present to the committee via Zoom regarding the 2020 election. Member questions and discussion followed. The committee went at ease from 3:54 p.m. to 3:55 p.m. Clerk Byrum providing additional testimony, followed by questions from Chair McBroom. Clerk Guy continued her presentation. Member questions and discussion followed from Rep.(s) LaFave, C.A. Johnson, Chair Hall and Rep. LaGrand. Member questions and discussion followed from Sen. Theis and Chair McBroom Chair Hall adjourned the House Committee on Oversight at 4:25 p.m. Chair McBroom recognized testimony cards and written testimony was received from the following individuals: Gordon R.
