BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7840 FAX: (517) 373-3932 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES March 16, 2021 A joint meeting of the Senate Committee on Natural Resources and the Senate Committee on Energy and Technology was scheduled for Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at 1:00 p.m., in the Harry T. Gast Appropriations Room of the Capitol Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Presentation on Line 5 from Canadian presenters The Chair called the meeting to order at 1:02 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair McBroom, Sen.(s) Bumstead, Outman, Schmidt and McCann, a quorum was present. The Chair invited committee members and guests to recite the Pledge of Allegiance. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Bumstead to adopt the meeting minutes from March 10, 2021. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited the following speakers to deliver a presentation regarding Line 5: Bob Bailey, Member of Provincial Parliament, Sarnia-Lambton Joseph Mancinelli, International Vice President and Regional Manager of Central and Eastern Canada, Laborers' International Union of North America Rocco Rossi, President & CEO, Ontario Chamber of Commerce Member questions and discussion followed. The following individuals submitted testimony regarding Line 5: Donna Perla, Mullett Lake Area Preservation Society – Oppose Lisa Patrell, Ann Arbor – Oppose Page 1 of 2 Matthew Shawn Borke – Oppose There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
