- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON AGRICULTURE REP. JERRY NEYER CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES The House Committee on Agriculture was called to order by Chair Neyer. The Chair requested attendance to be called: Present: Reps. Neyer, Wortz, Lightner, Alexander, Fox, Kunse, Pavlov, Paiz, Dievendorf, Rheingans and Skaggs. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative Alexander moved to adopt the meeting minutes from March 06, 2025. There being no objection, the motion prevailed with unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4017 before the committee: Chair Neyer moved to report out HB 4017 with recommendation that the bill be referred to the Committee on Rules. The motion prevailed 10-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Neyer, Wortz, Lightner, Alexander, Fox, Kunse, Pavlov, Paiz, Dievendorf and Skaggs. Nays: None. Pass: None. Chair Neyer laid a presentation from Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development before the committee. Tim Boring and David Williams, representing the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, gave presentation. Questions and discussion followed. Thursday, March 13, 2025 10:30 AM Room 308, House Office Building HB 4017 (Rep. Neyer) A bill to amend 1974 PA 154, entitled "Michigan occupational safety and health act," by amending section 35 (MCL 408.1035), as amended by 2024 PA 17. The Chair laid HB 4006 before the committee: Representative Bierlein testified in support of HB 4006. Questions and discussion followed. Judy Allen, representing the Michigan Township Association, testified with a neutral position on HB 4006. Questions and discussions followed. There being no further business before the committee, Chair Neyer adjourned the meeting at 11:34 AM.
