BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-2426 FAX: (517) 373-2964 **DRAFT** COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES June 12, 2024 A joint meeting of the Senate Committee on Natural Resources and Agriculture and House Committee on Agriculture was scheduled for Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at 9:00 a.m., in the Harry T. Gast Appropriations Room. 1. Presentation Update from MDARD on Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI). The Chair called the meeting to order at 9:04 a.m.. She instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Shink, Sen.(s) Singh, Polehanki, Daley, Victory and Hoitenga, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Polehanki to adopt the meeting minutes from April 9, 2024. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair made a motion to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Sen. Cherry was excused from the meeting. The Chair invited MDARD Director Dr. Tim Boring and State Veterinarian Nora Wineland for a presentation update on the Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI). Member questions followed. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
