The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported SB 993 (S-1) (Sen. Santana) with recommendation. 2. Reported SB 802 (Sen. Wojno) with recommendation. 3. Reported SB 973 (S-3) (Sen. Cavanagh) with recommendation. 4. Reported SB 974 (S-1) (Sen. Irwin) with recommendation. The Chair called the meeting to order at 8:35 a.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Hertel, Sen.(s) Santana, Wojno, Cherry, Klinefelt, Geiss, Webber, Hauck, and Huizenga, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Santana to adopt the meeting minutes from October 30, 2024. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited Sen. Santana to summarize SB 993. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB 993: Dr. Eric Roath, Michigan Pharmacists Association – Support The Chair invited Sen. Wojno to summarize SB 802. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB 802: Dr. Kathy Dollard, MyMichigan Health and the Michigan Health and Hospital Association – Support Dr. Bibhas Singla, Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services and the Michigan Health and Hospital Association – Support At 8:50 a.m., the Chair called for the committee to go at ease. At 8:55 a.m., Sen. Runestad entered the meeting. Page 1 of 3 At 8:55 a.m., the Chair reconvened the committee. Sen. Santana offered an (S-1) version of SB 993. The Chair invited Sen. Santana to summarize the changes in the (S-1) version of SB 993. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Santana to adopt the (S-1) version of SB 993. Geiss to report the (S-1) version of SB 993 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. Runestad The motion prevailed and the bill was reported.
