BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7315 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES June 24, 2025 A joint meeting of the Senate Committee on Health Policy and the Appropriations Subcommittee on DHHS was scheduled for Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at 1:30 p.m., in the Harry T. Gast Appropriations Room of the Capitol Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Adopted the Report on the Impacts of Proposed Medicaid Cuts. The Chair called the meeting to order at 1:44 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Hertel, Sen.(s) Sanatana, Wojno, Cherry, Klinefelt, Webber, Hauck, Huizenga, and Runestad, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Santana to adopt the meeting minutes from June 18, 2025. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair made a motion to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Sen. Geiss was excused from the meeting. At 1:45 p.m., the Appropriations Subcommittee on DHHS was called to order and the roll was called. A quorum as present. The Chair summarized the Report on Impacts of Proposed Federal Medicaid Cuts. Chair Santana gave comments on the Report on Impacts of Proposed Federal Medicaid Cuts. Sen. Webber made a motion to place SB 414 and SB 415 before the committee. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Webber to place SB 414 and SB 415 before the committee. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Sen.(s) Webber, Hauck, Huizenga, and Runestad Nays: Chair Hertel, Sen.(s) Santana, Wojno, Cherry, and Klinefelt The motion failed. Page 2 of 2 At 1:54 p.m., the Chair called for the committee to go at ease. At 1:56 p.m., the Chair reconvened the committee. The Chair made a motion to adopt the Report on Impacts of Proposed Federal Medicaid Cuts into the official committee record. Without objection, the report was adopted. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee. Without objection, the committee was adjourned at 1:58 p.m. There being no further business before the subcommittee, Chair Santana moved to adjourn the Appropriations Subcommittee on DHHS.
