MIKE HOADLEY CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Thursday, June 11, 2026 10:30 AM Room 521, House Office Building The House Committee on Economic Competitiveness was called to order by Chair Hoadley. The Chair requested attendance to be called: Present: Reps. Hoadley, Bohnak, Outman, Harris, BeGole, DeBoyer, St. Germaine, Grant, Brixie, Tate and Coffia. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative Coffia moved to adopt the meeting minutes from June 04, 2026. There being no objection, the motion prevailed with unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 5727, HB 5152, HB 5153 and HB 5139 before the committee: HB 5727 (Rep. Hoadley) A bill to amend 1978 PA 90, entitled "Youth employment standards act," by amending the title and sections 2, 5, 7, 10, 15, and 20 (MCL 409.102, 409.105, 409.107, 409.110, 409.115, and 409.120), the title and sections 2, 5, 7, 10, and 20 as amended by 2024 PA 196 and section 15 as amended by 2022 PA 123, and by adding section 19a; and to repeal acts and parts of acts. HB 5152 (Rep. Paquette) A bill to amend 1961 PA 236, entitled "Revised judicature act of 1961," by amending section 3208 (MCL 600.3208) and by adding sections 3214 and 3222. HB 5153 (Rep. Andrews) A bill to amend 1961 PA 236, entitled "Revised judicature act of 1961," by amending sections 3240 and 3252 (MCL 600.3240 and 600.3252), section 3240 as amended by 2019 PA 130. HB 5139 (Rep. Roth) A bill to amend 1937 PA 94, entitled "Use tax act," by amending sections 5 and 5c (MCL 205.95 and 205.95c), section 5 as amended by 2007 PA 93 and section 5c as added by 2019 PA 144. Representative BeGole moved to adopt substitute (H-4) to HB 5727. The motion prevailed 7-4-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Hoadley, Bohnak, Outman, Harris, BeGole, DeBoyer and St. Germaine. Nays: Reps. Grant, Brixie, Tate and Coffia. Pass: None. Representative BeGole moved to report out HB 5727 with recommendation that the substitute (H-4) be adopted and the bill then pass. The committee further recommended that the bill and substitutes be referred to the Committee on Rules. The motion prevailed 7-1-3: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Hoadley, Bohnak, Outman, Harris, BeGole, DeBoyer and St. Germaine. Nays: Rep. Brixie. Pass: Reps. Grant, Tate and Coffia.
