The Chair requested attendance to be called: Present: Reps. Schuette, Aragona, Wendzel, Martin, Posthumus, DeBoer, Liberati and Herzberg. Absent: Rep. Farhat. Excused: Rep. Farhat. Representative Martin moved to adopt the meeting minutes from June 04, 2026. There being no objection, the motion prevailed with unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 5707 before the committee: HB 5707 (Rep. Bierlein) A bill to amend 1994 PA 451, entitled "Natural resources and environmental protection act," by amending sections 30103 and 30305 (MCL 324.30103 and 324.30305), section 30103 as amended by 2018 PA 163 and section 30305 as amended by 2018 PA 631. The following person submitted a card in opposition to HB 5707, but did not wish to speak: Emily Smith, representing the Michigan Environmental Council. Representative DeBoer moved to adopt substitute (H-1) to HB 5707. The motion prevailed 8-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Outman) A bill to amend 1980 PA 119, entitled "Motor carrier fuel tax act," by amending the title and sections 1, 2, 2a, 5, 8, 9, and 10 (MCL 207.211, 207.212, 207.212a, 207.215, 207.218, 207.219, and 207.220), section 1 as amended by 2024 PA 219 and sections 2, 2a, 5, 8, 9, and 10 as amended by 2015 PA 178. HB 5435 (Rep. Outman) A bill to amend 2000 PA 403, entitled "Motor fuel tax act," by amending the title and section 53 (MCL 207.1053), section 53 as amended by 2015 PA 176, and by adding sections 157, 158, and 158a. Representative Outman testified in support of HB 5434 and HB 5435. Questions and discussion followed. The following person submitted a card in opposition to HB 5434 and HB 5435, but did not wish to speak: Chase Attanasio, representing Clean Fuels Michigan. Representative Martin moved to excuse Representative Farhat from the meeting. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. There being no further business before the committee, Chair Schuette adjourned the meeting at 10:59 AM.
