- COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES July 23, 2020 A meeting of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on K-12 and Michigan Department of Education was scheduled for Thursday, July 23, 2020, at 8:30 a.m., in the 403 Room of the Capitol Building. The Chair called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Schmidt, Sen.(s) Bumstead, Daley, Bayer and Polehanki, a quorum was present. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding online learning Dr. John VanWagoner, Traverse City Public School Superintendent – Neutral The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding online learning Jamey Fitzpatrick, Michigan Virtual University – Neutral The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding online learning Dave Cairy, MI Association of Intermediate School Administrators – Neutral WIlliam MIller, MI Association of Intermediate School Administrators – Neutral At 9:05, Sen.
