- **DRAFT** COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES March 5, 2020 A meeting of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA)/Department of Insurance and Financial Services (DIFS) was scheduled for Thursday, March 5, 2020, at 8:45 a.m., in the 1300 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The Chair called the meeting to order at 8:46 a.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Nesbitt, Sen.(s) MacDonald and Santana, a quorum was present. The Chair made a motion, supported by Sen. MacDonald, to adopt the meeting minutes from February 27, 2020. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding Sally Talberg, Public Service Commission Senator Nesbitt asked several questions, including the type of Restricted revenue received by area, the number of FTEs assigned to the Commission historically and at present, the number of complaints received by the Department, and the practices and expectations associated with the Michigan Saves proposal. Senator Santana asked a question regarding rate regulations. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair made a motion, supported by Sen. MacDonald, to adjourn the committee at 9:16 a.m. Without objection, the committee was adjourned. Page 1 of 1
