BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-1758 FAX: (517) 373-0938 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES February 24, 2020 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Finance was scheduled for Monday, February 24, 2020, at 10:00 a.m., in the City Council Chamber of the Novi City Hall, Novi Civic Center, 45174 West Ten Mile Road, Novi, Michigan. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. An Informational Hearing on Property Tax Assessments. The Chair called the meeting to order at 10:05 a.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Runestad, Sen.(s) Daley, VanderWall and Chang, a quorum was present. The Chair moved to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Sen.(s) Nesbitt, Bumstead and Alexander were excused from the meeting. The Chair provided the committee with opening remarks and brought up the days agenda. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regard property tax assessments: John Dahlquist, President of the Michigan Assessor Association and Assessor for the City of Trenton, MI Michael Lohmeier, Assessor for the City of Novi, Michigan Louise Braun, Expert Appraiser David Hieber, Director, Oakland County Equalization Department Michelle Oberholtzer, United Community Housing Coalition Bob Hoffman, Citizen Wade Leja, Citizen There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the meeting.
