BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-1725 FAX: (517) 373-0741 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES October 31, 2019 A joint meeting of the Senate Committee on Health Policy and Human Services and Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Community Health/Human Services was scheduled for Thursday, October 31, 2019, at 1:00 p.m., in the Senate Hearing Room of the Boji Tower. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Presentation by Director Robert Gordon and Inspector General and Senior Deputy Director Alan Kimichik, of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, regarding the Policy Change to the Public Assistance Asset Test. Chair VanderWall called the meeting to order at 1:03 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair VanderWall, Sen.(s) Bizon, Johnson, LaSata, MacDonald, Theis, Brinks, Hertel, Santana, and Wojno, a quorum was present. Chair VanderWall invited the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Community Health/Human Services to call roll. A quorum was present. Chair VanderWall deferred to Chair MacGregor to invite Director Robert Gordon and Inspector General and Senior Deputy Director Alan Akimichik, of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, to give an overview of the policy change to the Public Assistance Asset Test. Questions followed from members of both committees. The Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Community Health/Human Services adjourned at 2:16 p.m. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
