BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-2420 FAX: (517) 373-2764 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES September 30, 2020 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Insurance and Banking was scheduled for Wednesday, September 30, 2020, at 9:00 a.m., in the Harry T. Gast Appropriations Room. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding HB 4508 (Rep. Webber). The Chair called the meeting to order at 9:01 a.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Theis, Sen.(s) Lauwers, LaSata, Nesbitt, Daley, Barrett, Horn, Geiss, Bullock and McMorrow, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. LaSata to adopt the meeting minutes from September 2, 2020. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding HB 4508: Rep. Michael Webber – Support Michael Byrne, US Travel Insurance Association – Support Duke DeHaaz, Allianz Partners – Support Bob Stefanski, AIG – Support The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding HB 4508: Vern Pixley, SCI-Michigan – Opposition There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
