BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-1777 FAX: (517) 373-5871 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES June 23, 2022 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Agriculture was scheduled for Thursday, June 23, 2022, at 8:00 a.m., in the 1300 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding SB 1018 (Sen. Zorn) and SB 1019 (Sen. Zorn). 2. Testimony regarding SB 814 (Sen. Daley). The Chair called the meeting to order at 8:03 a.m.. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Daley, Sen.(s) Victory, Lauwers, Polehanki and Brinks, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Victory to adopt the meeting minutes from June 8, 2022. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited Shane Preston, of Senator Zorn's office, to summarize (S-1) to SB 1018 and (S-1) to SB 1019. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Victory to adopt the (S-1) version of SB 1018. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Daley, Sen.(s) Victory, Lauwers, and Polehanki. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the (S-1) was adopted. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Lauwers to adopt the (S-1) version of SB 1019. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Daley, Sen.(s) Victory, Lauwers, and Polehanki. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the (S-1) was adopted. The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding SB 1018 and SB 1019: Amanda Tomish, MI Assoc. of Fairs and Exhibitions, – Support Darryl Diamond, Monroe Co. Fair – Support Page 1 of 2 At 8:08 a.m., the Chair recessed the committee. At 8:09 a.m., the Chair reconvened the committee. The Chair testified on Senate Bill 814. At 8:17 a.m. Senator Brinks entered the meeting.
