- **DRAFT** COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES April 18, 2024 A meeting of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Corrections and Judiciary was scheduled for Thursday, April 18, 2024, at 1:30 p.m., in the 1300 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Referred SB 756 (S-1) ( Shink) to the Committee on Appropriations, with recommendation as substituted. 2. Referred SB 757 (S-1) ( Shink) to the Committee on Appropriations, with recommendation as substituted. The Chair called the meeting to order at 1:38 p.m.. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Shink, Sen.(s) Santana, Irwin and Outman, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Santana, supported by Sen. Irwin, to adopt the meeting minutes from March 14, 2024. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Irwin, supported by Sen. Santana to adopt the (S-1) of SB 756. Without objection, the Substitute was adopted. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Irwin, supported by Sen. Santana, to refer SB 756 to the Committee on Appropriations, with recommendation as substituted. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Shink, Sen.(s) Santana and Irwin. Nays: None Pass: Sen.(s) Outman. The motion prevailed and the bill was referred. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Santana, supported by Sen. Irwin, to adopt the (S-1) of SB 757. Without objection, the Substitute was adopted. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Santana, supported by Sen. Irwin, to refer SB 757 to the Committee on Appropriations, with recommendation as substituted. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Shink, Sen.(s) Santana and Irwin. Nays: None Pass: Sen.(s) Outman. The motion prevailed and the bill was referred. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding human milk transportation services: Page 1 of 2 Angelene Adams, Mama's Mobile Milk – No Position The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding prisoner healthcare: Karley Abramson, Citizen's Research Council of Michigan – No Position The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding the Tri-Cap Community Adjudication Program: Gary Davis and Chris Brown, Michigan Association of Community Corrections and Advancement – No Position There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
