- COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES February 28, 2024 A meeting of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on DHHS was scheduled for Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at 8:30 a.m., in the Rooms 402/403, Capitol Building. The Chair called the meeting to order at 8:32 a.m.. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Santana, Sen.(s) McDonald Rivet, Irwin, Cavanagh, Cherry, Bayer, Outman, Huizenga, Hauck and Theis, a quorum was present. The Chair made a motion, supported by Sen. McDonald Rivet, to adopt the meeting minutes from February 27, 2024. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding Laura Appel, Michigan Health and Hospital Association – No Position Amy Dolinky - Technical Adviser for Opioid Settlement Funds Planning and Capacity Building, Michigan Association of Counties – No Position Dr. Natasha Bagdasarian - Chief Medical Executive and Amy Epkey - Senior Deputy Director of the Financial Operations Administration, Department of Health and Human Services – No Position Dr. Cara Anne Poland - Chair, Hon. Jamie Stuck - Commissioner, and Tara King - Coordinator, Opioid Advisory Commission – No Position Dr. Cara Anne Poland - Chair, Hon. Jamie Stuck - Commissioner, and Tara King - Coordinator, Opioid Advisory Commission – No Position At 8:34 a.m., Sen. Lana Theis entered the meeting. At 8:40 a.m., Sen. Roger Hauck entered the meeting. At 8:50 a.m., Sen. Rosemary Bayer left the meeting. At 8:54 a.m., Sen. Mary Cavanagh entered the meeting. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair made a motion, supported by Sen. Irwin, to adjourn the committee at 9:48 a.m.Without objection, the committee was adjourned.
