- **DRAFT** COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES April 11, 2023 A meeting of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on DHHS was scheduled for Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at 8:30 a.m., in the Rooms 402/403, Capitol Building. The Chair called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.. She instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Santana, Sen.(s) McDonald Rivet, Cherry, Bayer, Outman, and Huizenga, a quorum was present. At 8:32 a.m., Sen. Mary Cavanagh entered the meeting. A quorum was now present. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding Child Welfare and Homelessness Kellie Rutledge-Interim Executive Director, Heather Brown-Director of Program Operations and Services, and Megh Hollowell-Development Associate, Ozone House Meagan Dunn-Executive Director, Covenant House Michigan Rev. Kevin Harris-Executive Director, Nazarene Community Housing Demetrius Starling-Senior Deputy Director of the Children's Services Administration, and Paula Kaiser Van Dam-Director of the Bureau of Community Services, Department of Health and Human Services At 8:34 a.m., Sen. Lana Theis entered the meeting. At 8:35 a.m., Sen. Darrin Camilleri entered the meeting. At 8:41 a.m., Sen. Roger Hauck entered the meeting. At 8:56 a.m., Sen.(s) Rick Outman, Mark Huizenga and Lana Theis left the meeting. At 8:58 a.m., Sen. Darrin Camilleri left the meeting. The Chair made a motion, supported by Sen. Cavanagh, to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Sen. Irwin was excused from the meeting. The Chair made a motion, supported by Sen. Bayer, to adopt the meeting minutes from March 22, 2023. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair made a motion, supported by Sen. McDonald Rivet, to adjourn the committee at 9:46 a.m.Without objection, the committee was adjourned. Page 1 of 1
