- **DRAFT** COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES March 21, 2023 A meeting of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on DHHS was scheduled for Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at 8:30 a.m., in the Rooms 402/403, Capitol Building. The Chair called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.. The Chair instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Santana, Sen.(s) McDonald Rivet, Irwin, Cherry, Bayer, Outman, Huizenga, and Theis, a quorum was present. The Chair made a motion, supported by Sen. McDonald Rivet, to adopt the meeting minutes from March 7, 2023. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding Dr. Abdul El-Sayed, Wayne County Health Department – No Position At 8:32 a.m., Sen.(s) Mary Cavanagh and Roger Hauck entered the meeting. At 8:36 a.m., Sen. Darrin Camilleri entered the meeting. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding Denise Berry, Shelterhouse - Executive Director – No Position Heath Lowry, Michigan Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence - Public Policy Specialist, Staff Attorney – No Position The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding Dr. Sarah Lyon-Callo, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services - Acting Senior Deputy Director, Public Health Administration – No Position Elizabeth Nagel, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services - Senior Deputy Director, Policy, Planning, and Operational Support – No Position There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
