- COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES April 26, 2023 A meeting of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on General Government was scheduled for Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at 3:00 p.m., in the 1300 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The Chair called the meeting to order at 3:00 p.m.. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Cherry, Sen.(s) Bayer, Singh, Klinefelt, Albert and Hauck, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Bayer, supported by Sen. Singh, to adopt the meeting minutes from March 22, 2023. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding the SB 189 (S-1) chair rec. Cory Savino, Joe Carrasco, Jonah Houtz, Senate Fiscal Agency – No Position The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Bayer, supported by Sen. Singh, to adopt the Bayer amendment #1a to the (S-1) version of SB 189. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Cherry, Sen.(s) Bayer, Singh, and Hauck. Nays: Sen.(s) Klinefelt and Albert. The motion prevailed and the amendment was adopted. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Albert, supported by Sen. Hauck, to adopt the Albert amendment #1b to the (S-1) version of SB 189. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Sen.(s) Albert and Hauck. Nays: Chair Cherry, Sen.(s) Bayer and Klinefelt. Pass: Sen.(s) Singh. The motion failed and the amendment was not adopted. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Albert, supported by Sen. Hauck, to adopt the Albert amendment #1c to the (S-1) version of SB 189. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Sen.(s) Albert and Hauck. Nays: Chair Cherry, Sen.(s) Bayer, Singh and Klinefelt. The motion failed and the amendment was not adopted. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Bayer, supported by Sen. Singh, to adopt the (S-1) version of SB 189. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Cherry, Sen.(s) Bayer, Singh, and Klinefelt. Nays: Sen.(s) Albert and Hauck.
