- **DRAFT** COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES April 27, 2023 A meeting of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on MDE was scheduled for Thursday, April 27, 2023, at 9:00 a.m., in the 403 Room of the Capitol Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Referred SB 186 ( Bayer) to the Committee on Appropriations, with recommendation, as amended. The Chair called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Bayer, Sen.(s) Klinefelt, Singh and Albert, a quorum was present. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB 189 (S-1). Cory Savino, Senate Fiscal Agency – No Position The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Albert, supported by Sen. Singh, to amendment to (S-2) version of SB 186. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Sen.(s) Albert. Nays: Chair Bayer, Sen.(s) Klinefelt and Singh. The motion failed and the (S-2) was not adopted. The Chair made a motion, supported by Sen. Klinefelt, to adopt the (S-1) version of SB 186. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Bayer, Sen.(s) Klinefelt and Singh. Nays: Sen.(s) Albert. The motion prevailed and the (S-1) was adopted. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Klinefelt, supported by Sen. Singh, to refer SB 186 to the Committee on Appropriations, with recommendation, as amended. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Bayer, Sen.(s) Klinefelt and Singh. Nays: Sen.(s) Albert. The motion prevailed and the bill was referred. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair made a motion, supported by Sen. Klinefelt, to adjourn the committee at 9:13 a.m.Without objection, the committee was adjourned. Page 1 of 1
