- **DRAFT** COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES March 9, 2023 A meeting of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on MDE was scheduled for Thursday, March 9, 2023, at 9:00 a.m., in the 403 Room of the Capitol Building. The Chair called the meeting to order at 9:01 a.m.. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Bayer, Sen.(s) Singh and Albert, a quorum was present. The Chair made a motion, supported by Sen. Singh, to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Sen. Klinefelt was excused from the meeting. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding the FY 2023-24 Governor's budget recommendation for the Department of Education. Dr. Sheryl Kennedy and Spencer Simmons, Department of Education – Support At 9:04 a.m., Sen. Veronica Klinefelt entered the meeting. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair made a motion, supported by Sen. Klinefelt, to adjourn the committee at 9:27 a.m.Without objection, the committee was adjourned.
