- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON FAMILIES, CHILDREN, AND SENIORS REP. STEPHANIE A YOUNG CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, January 31, 2023 12:00 PM Room 326, House Office Building The House Committee on Families, Children, and Seniors was called to order by Chair Young. The Clerk read the letter from House Speaker Joe Tate which appointed members of the House Committee on Families, Children, and Seniors. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Young, Coffia, Glanville, Arbit, Edwards, MacDonell, Wozniak, Fox, Friske, Johnsen. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative Arbit joined the committee remotely. Representative Coffia moved to adopt Room 326, Tuesdays, at Noon, as the standing room, day, and time of the House Committee on Families, Children, and Seniors. The motion prevailed 9-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Young, Coffia, Glanville, Edwards, MacDonell, Wozniak, Fox, Friske, Johnsen. Nays: None. Pass: None. Chair Young announced that the House Committee on Families, Children, and Seniors will follow the Uniform Committee rules, stated in the House Standing Rules, that were adopted on the House Floor. The Chair laid a presentation on the Governor's Child Welfare Task Force before the committee. Chief Circuit and Probate Court Judge, Gregory C. Pittman, and Michael E. Williams, President and CEO of Orchards Children's Services gave a presentation on the Governor's Child Welfare Task Force. Questions and discussion followed.
