- **DRAFT** COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES March 20, 2024 A meeting of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on PreK-12 was scheduled for Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., in the Harry T. Gast Appropriations Room. The Chair called the meeting to order at 11:00 a.m.. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Camilleri, Sen.(s) Polehanki, Hertel, Klinefelt, Cavanagh and Albert, a quorum was present. The Chair made a motion, supported by Sen. Polehanki, to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Sen.(s) McDonald Rivet and Theis were excused from the meeting. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Klinefelt, supported by Sen. Hertel, to adopt the meeting minutes from March 12, 2024. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. At 11:02 a.m., Sen. Kristen McDonald Rivet entered the meeting. At 11:05 a.m., Sen. Lana Theis entered the meeting. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony Caitlin Donnelly and Trey Baughman, Michigan teachers Jeff Cobb, Director of Government Affairs, Education Trust Midwest Jametta Lilly, CEO, Detroit Parent Network Jose Orozco, Executive Director, Voces There being no further business before the committee, the Chair made a motion, supported by Sen. Polehanki, to adjourn the committee at 11:56 a.m.Without objection, the committee was adjourned. Page 1 of 1
