- **DRAFT** COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES March 6, 2023 A meeting of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on PreK-12 was scheduled for Monday, March 6, 2023, at 5:30 p.m., in the 16400 Carter Rd, Woodhaven, MI 48183. At 5:34 p.m., Sen.(s) Mary Cavanagh, Darrin Camilleri, Dayna Polehanki, Kevin Hertel and Veronica Klinefelt entered the meeting. The Chair called the meeting to order at 5:35 p.m. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding early childhood education Mark Greathead, Woodhaven-Brownstown Superintendent – No Position Tim Podlewski, Yake Elementary Principal – No Position Matt Salah, Director of Special Services for Woodhaven-Brownstown – No Position At 5:40 p.m., Sen. Thomas Albert entered the meeting. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding the expansion of the Great Start Readiness Program Dr. Daveda Colbert, Wayne RESA Superintendent – No Position Dr. Sophia Lafayette-Lause, Wayne RESA Executive Director of Early Childhood Services – No Position At 6:35 p.m., Sen. Kevin Hertel left the meeting. At 6:58 p.m. the Chair instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Camilleri, Sen.(s) Polehanki, Klinefelt, Cavanagh and Albert, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Cavanagh, supported by Sen. Camilleri, to adopt the meeting minutes from February 28, 2023. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Klinefelt, supported by Sen. Camilleri, to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Sen.(s) Hertel and Theis were excused from the meeting. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Polehanki, supported by Sen. Klinefelt, to adjourn the committee at 6:59 p.m.Without objection, the committee was adjourned. Page 1 of 1
