- **DRAFT** COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES February 28, 2024 A meeting of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Universities and Community Colleges was scheduled for Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at 8:45 a.m., in the 1100 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The Chair called the meeting to order at 8:48 a.m.. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair McCann, Sen.(s) Singh and Albert, a quorum was present. The Chair moved, supported by Sen. Singh, to excuse absent members. Without objection, absent members were excused. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Albert, supported by Sen. Singh, to adopt the meeting minutes from February 21, 2024. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited Brandy Johnson, President of the Michigan Community Colleges Association, to present testimony regarding priorities for the fiscal year 2024-25 budget. Ms. Johnson also provided written testimony and answered a number of questions from members of the committee. The Chair invited Robert LeFevre, President of Michigan Independent Colleges and Universities, to present testimony regarding his organization's priorities for the fiscal year 2024-25 budget. Mr. LeFevre also provided written testimony and answered a number of questions from members of the committee. There being no further business before the committee, the committee was adjourned.
