BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7315 FAX: (517) 373-3126 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES February 1, 2023 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Health Policy was scheduled for Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at 12:30 p.m., in the 1100 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Adopted the Committee Rules. 2. Presentation by the Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services. The Chair called the meeting to order at 12:42 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Hertel, Sen.(s) Santana, Wojno, Cherry, Klinefelt, Geiss, Webber, Hauck, Huizenga, and Runestad, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Geiss to adopt the committee rules. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Hertel, Sen.(s) Santana, Wojno, Cherry, Klinefelt, Geiss, Webber, Hauck, Huizenga, and Runestad Nays: None The motion prevailed and the rules were adopted. The Chair invited Joseph Sullivan, who is the Insurance Legislative Liaison for the Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services, to give a presentation regarding the State Based Health Exchange. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
