BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-0142 FAX: (517) 373-3938 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES March 2, 2023 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Labor was scheduled for Thursday, March 2, 2023, at 8:30 a.m., in the 1300 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Presentation by Robert J. MacDonald of MacDonald & MacDonald, PLLC regarding the status of Michigan's Worker's Compensation System The Chair called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Cherry, Sen.(s) Camilleri, Cavanagh and Albert, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Camilleri to adopt the meeting minutes from February 16, 2023. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding the Michigan Worker's Compensation System: Robert MacDonald, MacDonald & MacDonald PLLC Ryan Raymond, Citizen Sean Shearer, Attorney Michael Saleh, Citizen Eric Wood, Citizen Joel Alpert, Attorney Carlos Ojeda, interpreter for Jonathon Escalares-Cruz The following individuals attended committee, but did not speak: Terry Burke, Citizen Richard Walsh, Citizen Lesley Daniels, Citizen There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
