- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND MUNICIPAL FINANCE REP. JOHN FITZGERALD CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, February 1, 2023 12:00 PM Room 519, House Office Building The House Committee on Local Government and Municipal Finance was called to order by Chair Fitzgerald. The Clerk read a letter from House Speaker Tate appointing members of the House Local Government and Municipal Finance committee. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Fitzgerald, Byrnes, Shannon, Breen, Rogers, Hill, Hoskins, Paiz, Zorn, Paquette, Bezotte, Harris, Prestin. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative Paquette joined the committee remotely. Representative Byrnes moved to adopt Wednesday at 12 noon in room 519 of the House Office Building as the appointed meeting schedule for the full committee. The motion prevailed 12-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Fitzgerald, Byrnes, Shannon, Breen, Rogers, Hill, Hoskins, Paiz, Zorn, Bezotte, Harris, Prestin. Nays: None. Pass: None. The Chair stated that the committee will follow Chapter IV, stated in the House standing Rules, that were adopted on the House Floor. The Chair laid before the committee a presentation by John LaMacchia, Jennifer Rigterink and Herasanna Richards from the Michigan Municipal League. Questions and discussion followed.
