BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-5932 FAX: (517) 373-5944 ** DRAFT ** COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES June 25, 2019 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Government Operations was scheduled for Wednesday, June 25, 2020, at 9:00 a.m., in the Harry T. Gast Senate Appropriations room. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported SJR L (Sen. VanderWall) with recommendation that it be adopted. At 9:00 a.m., the Chairman called the meeting to order He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present; Chairman Shirkey, Sen.(s) Lauwers, Nesbitt, Ananich and Chang a quorum was present. The Chairman entertained a motion by Sen. Lauwers to adopt the committee meeting minutes from December 10, 2019. Without Objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chairman invited Sen. VanderWall to summarize SJR L. The Chairman invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SJR L: David Dudenhoefer, Michigan Campaign for Liberty – Oppose Linda Wildern, Michigan Conservative League – Oppose Mark Meckler, Convention of States Action - Support The following individuals turned in cards not wishing to testify regarding SJR L: Alex Rossman, Michigan League for Public Policy - Oppose Brendon Boudreau, Great Lakes Gun Rights – Oppose Jennifer Browner, Citizen – Oppose Tom Graham, Citizen – Support The Chairman entertained a motion by Sen. Lauwers, supported by Sen. Nesbitt, to report SJR L to the floor with recommendation that it be adopted. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chairman Shirkey, Sen.(s) Lauwers and Nesbitt Nays: Sen.(s) Ananich and Chang The resolution was reported.
