- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON HIGHER EDUCATION REP. CAROL GLANVILLE CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, March 1, 2023 10:30 AM Room 326, House Office Building The House Committee on Higher Education was called to order by Chair Glanville. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Glanville, Rheingans, Koleszar, Scott, Byrnes, Coffia, Hill, MacDonell, Paiz, VanderWall, Paquette, Zorn, DeSana, Kunse. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative Paquette joined the committee remotely. Representative Rheingans moved to adopt the meeting minutes from February 8, 2023. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid presentations by Brandy Johnson, President of the Michigan Community Colleges Association, and Sara Szurpicki, Director of the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity's Sixty by 30 program. Brandy Johnson, President of the Michigan Community Colleges Association, gave a presentation on Michigan Reconnect, questions and discussion followed. Sara Szurpicki, Director of the Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity's Sixty by 30 program, gave a presentation on LEO's sixty by 30 program, questions and discussion followed.
