- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND SMALL BUSINESS REP. JASON M HOSKINS CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, March 14, 2023 9:00 AM Room 326, House Office Building The House Committee on Economic Development and Small Business was called to order by Chair Hoskins. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Hoskins, Grant, Whitsett, Neeley, Liberati, Coffia, Farhat, Miller, Tisdel, VanWoerkom, Martin, Roth, St. Germaine. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative Coffia joined the committee remotely. The Chair laid HB 4219 before the committee: HB 4219 (Rep. Hall) A bill to amend 1984 PA 270, entitled "Michigan strategic fund act," by amending section 5 (MCL 125.2005), as amended by 2014 PA 507. Representative Hall testified in support of HB 4219. Questions and discussion followed. The following people submitted a card in support of HB 4219, but did not wish to speak: Greg Bird, representing the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. Brian Shoaf, representing the Detroit Regional Chamber. At 9:19 AM, the Chair laid the committee at ease. At 9:23 AM, the Chair called the committee back to order. Representative Farhat moved to report out HB 4219 with recommendation. The motion prevailed 12-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Hoskins, Grant, Whitsett, Neeley, Liberati, Farhat, Miller, Tisdel, VanWoerkom, Martin, Roth, St. Germaine. Nays: None. Pass: None. Representative Grant moved to adopt the meeting minutes from February 28, 2023. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent.
