- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND MUNICIPAL FINANCE REP. JOHN FITZGERALD CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, March 15, 2023 12:00 PM Room 519, House Office Building The House Committee on Local Government and Municipal Finance was called to order by Chair Fitzgerald. The Clerk read a letter from Speaker Tate removing Representative Harris from the committee and adding Representative BeGole to the committee. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Fitzgerald, Byrnes, Shannon, Rogers, Hill, Hoskins, Paiz, Paquette, Bezotte, BeGole, Prestin. Absent: Reps. Breen, Zorn. Excused: Reps. Breen, Zorn. Representative Rogers moved to adopt the meeting minutes from March 1, 2023. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid before the committee a presentation by Jessica Thomas, Bureau Director; David Buick, Administrator; and Larry Steckelberg, Administrator; Bureau of Local Government and School Services, Michigan Department of Treasury. Questions and discussion followed. Representative Rogers moved to excuse Representatives Breen and Zorn from the meeting. There being no objection the motion prevailed by unanimous consent.
