HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON JUDICIARY REP. SARAH LIGHTNER CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES The House Committee on Judiciary was called to order by Chair Lightner. The Chair requested attendance to be called: Present: Reps. Lightner, BeGole, Wozniak, Harris, DeBoyer, Johnsen, Schuette, Hope, Breen and Scott. Absent: Rep. Tyrone Carter. Excused: Rep. Tyrone Carter. Representative Wozniak moved to adopt the meeting minutes from March 12, 2025. There being no objection, the motion prevailed with unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4033 and HB 4034 before the committee: Representative BeGole moved to adopt substitute (H-1) to HB 4034. The motion prevailed 9-0- 0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Lightner, BeGole, Wozniak, Harris, DeBoyer, Johnsen, Schuette, Hope and Scott. Nays: None. Pass: None. Wednesday, March 19, 2025 10:30 AM Room 521, House Office Building HB 4033 (Rep. Wozniak) An act to allow certain fiduciaries to convert income trusts to unitrusts, convert express unitrusts to income trusts, and change the percentage or method used to calculate unitrust amounts. HB 4034 (Rep. Wozniak) A bill to amend 1988 PA 418, entitled "Uniform statutory rule against perpetuities," by amending sections 3 and 5 (MCL 554.73 and 554.75), section 5 as amended by 2011 PA 11.
