- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS REP. TULLIO LIBERATI CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, March 22, 2023 12:00 PM Room 307, House Office Building The House Committee on Government Operations was called to order by Chair Liberati. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Liberati, Pohutsky, McFall, Posthumus, Greene. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative Greene moved to adopt the meeting minutes from March 1, 2023. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4047 and HB 4018 before the committee: HB 4047 (Rep. Bezotte) A bill to designate February 1 of each year as "Blue Star Mothers Day". HB 4018 (Rep. MacDonell) A bill to amend 2003 PA 225, entitled "An act to designate March 31 of each year as Cesar E. Chavez day in the state of Michigan; to designate July 14 of each year as President Gerald R. Ford day in the state of Michigan; and to designate July 30 of each year as Henry Ford day in the state of Michigan," (MCL 435.301 to 435.303) by amending the title and by adding section 4. Representative Bezotte introduced HB 4047 along with Jacqueline Ransom and Kathy Barnes. The Committee discussed the bill. Representative Pohutsky moved to report out HB 4047 with recommendation. The motion prevailed 5-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Liberati, Pohutsky, McFall, Posthumus, Greene. Nays: None. Pass: None. Representative MacDonell introduced HB 4018 along with Dr. Karen Korematsu and Dr. Naoko Wake. The Committee discussed the bill. Representative McFall moved to report out HB 4018 with recommendation. The motion prevailed 5-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Liberati, Pohutsky, McFall, Posthumus, Greene. Nays: None. Pass: None.
