- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON NATURAL RESOURCES AND TOURISM REP. DAVID MARTIN CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES The House Committee on Natural Resources and Tourism was called to order by Chair Martin. The Clerk read a letter dated January 30th, 2025, from House Speaker Matt Hall which appointed members of the Committee on Natural Resources and Tourism. The Chair requested attendance to be called: Present: Reps. Martin, St. Germaine, VanderWall, Outman, Hoadley, Johnsen, Prestin, Bohnak, Fairbairn, Wortz, McFall, Scott, Weiss, Arbit, Foreman, Myers-Phillips and Wooden. Absent: None. Excused: None. Chair Martin stated that the House Committee on Natural Resources and Tourism will follow the Uniform Committee Rules, stated in the House Standing Rules, that were adopted on the House Floor. Chair Martin offered the following proposed committee rule: At the discretion of the committee chair, a member of the public may address the committee regarding business before the committee. The committee may accept written testimony in lieu of oral testimony Representative St. Germain moved to adopt the proposed committee rule. The motion prevailed 16-0-0 FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Martin, St. Germaine, VanderWall, Outman, Hoadley, Johnsen, Prestin, Bohnak, Fairbairn, Wortz, McFall, Scott, Weiss, Foreman, Myers-Phillips and Wooden. Nays: None. Pass: None. Representative McFall moved to adopt at the Wednesdays at 12 noon, in room 519 of the House Office Wednesday, February 19, 2025 Noon. Room 519, House Office Building Building as the normal day, time, and location for meetings of the House Committee on Natural Resources and Tourism. The motion prevailed 17-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Martin, St. Germaine, VanderWall, Outman, Hoadley, Johnsen, Prestin, Bohnak, Fairbairn, Wortz, McFall, Scott, Weiss, Arbit, Foreman, Myers-Phillips and Wooden. Nays: None. Pass: None. The Chair laid a presentation on the Michigan Department of Natural Resources before the committee. Deputy Director Shannon Lott and Legislative Liaison Chris Semrinec, representing the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, gave a presentation. Questions and discussions followed. The Chair laid a presentation on the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy before the committee. Director Phil Roos and Legislative Liaison Sydney Hart, representing the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy, gave a presentation. Questions and discussions followed.
